Prerequisites:
Completion of the 1st grade prior to summer school so that each student has developed the fundamentals of mathematics, reading, and writing skills.
Homework and Tests:

Homework: There will be no mathematics, reading, writing, or grammar homework that will be assigned to the students during the course of the summer school. However, they will be assigned daily bible readings that each student is recommended to read, comprehend, and memorize.

Tests: On Tuesday, July 2nd students will be taking a Pre-Assessment test. This will be used to create effective lesson plans for our class. This Pre-Assessment test will be used to have a general idea of where each student stands in the subjects that will be covered during summer school. On Tuesday, August 13th we will take our Final Assessment to measure the students progress and understanding of the materials covered during the duration of summer school.
Students will be taking a test, every other Friday (7/12 & 7/26) to review their comprehension of the different math topics learned. It will be based on the reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and mathematics. This test will be specifically designed by the TA and myself.
On the other Fridays (7/5, 7/19, and 8/2), we will not be taking a test. Instead we will be playing “Jeopardy” in order to review the materials learned throughout the week.
Weekly Evaluation:

Every Friday, students will be taking home a weekly newsletter. This is for the parents as well as the student to see how they are doing in class and if there are any areas they are in need of improvement.
