Week 3: Day 2

Week 3: Day 2

Unfortunately, I had to teach art for the Pre-K so I missed out on cooking and gym time photos.

The "On Time Squad"!

Today we learned about humility and how Jesus washed his disciple's feet

In Bible study, the kids had to close their eyes and imagine the story as Pastor Isaac reads it to them

"OOOH! IT FEELS SO GOOD!"

Afterwards, we played "Do You Love Your Neighbor"

"Chloe, do you love your neighbor?"

Apparently, she loves everyone

Hot dogs for lunch!

For cooking, we baked Dark Chocolate Cranberry Cookies. The kids learned how to look at recipes and how to measure ingredients.

The Recipe:

Makes About 2 Dozen
Ingredients:2 Sticks (1 cup) of Unsalted Butter
1 ½ cups of Sugar
½ cup of Brown Sugar
1 tsp of Vanilla
2 Eggs
2 ½ cups of Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
½ tsp Baking Powder
½ tsp of Salt
1 ½ cups of Semisweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup of Dried Sweetened Cranberries
Process,
1) Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2) In a large bowl cream together the brown sugar, granulated sugar and butter, add the eggs and vanilla and whisk to combine.

3) Add the baking soda, baking powder, salt and flour, mix to combine.

4) Fold in Cranberries and Chocolate Chips

5) Drop dough by tablespoon full a couple inches apart on a non stick baking sheet. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes and let cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
They turned out delicious! Other grades were impressed and the kids were happy to have made their own cookies too.
